Andrea's Psychotherapy Practice

Andrea has a private mental health practice, Andrea Anderson LPC, LLC & Associates, providing faith-based psychotherapy. She believes healing happens through relationship—the wounds that occur in relationship must be healed in relationship. Therapy is not merely a conversation; it is a relationship between two people. Therapy is not something that happens to us; it is something that happens through us.

Andrea specializes in counseling women navigating work-life balance and life transitions; self-esteem and confidence issues; stress and overwhelm; depression and anxiety; relationship challenges, and other personal concerns.

Whether in motherhood, ministry, business, or other meaningful roles, Andrea helps her clients move toward calm, clarity, and connection.

Through her hands-on, evidence-based approach to therapy, Andrea and her clients form a dynamic team, collaborating to identify patterns in thinking, relating, and self-perception that contribute to distress and address them in a focused, intentional way.

This approach facilitates insight into the root causes of symptoms and the implementation of effective interventions to reduce or eliminate them, supporting real healing and enduring change. â€‹

Andrea's Book

Andrea is the author of, The Cuckoo Syndrome: The Secret to Breaking Free from Unhealthy Relationships, Toxic Thinking, and Self-Sabotaging Behavior.

"Andrea intimately understands the human heart and the heart of God. As a follower of Jesus and with over a decade of clinical experience counseling hurting people, she powerfully integrates scripture, science, and psychology.  Andrea’s words, equally elegant and surprisingly provocative, demonstrates that by facing our deepest heartaches and identifying the lies we believe, that transformation and healing happen. You will be welcomed into an honest conversation with yourself, God, and others about your wants, needs, and desires. You’ll discover that what or who is keeping you stuck, is not what you think it is. The Cuckoo Syndrome is driven by the truth of John 8:32 that the truth will set you free.” - Mark Batterson, lead pastor of National Community Church, and New York Times best-selling author

Drawing from years of clinical experience, she offers a distinctive framework that uses the cuckoo metaphor to reveal limiting relational and personal patterns and to guide people toward insight, responsibility, and emotional healing.

Fun Facts About Andrea

Andrea's Myers-Briggs type is INFJ, a rare personality type, representing less than 1% of the population, often associated with depth, wisdom, and keen intuition. She begins each morning with a cup of matcha, collects vintage rock tees, follows a plant-based lifestyle, and has a longstanding interest in fashion.

She finds restoration in simple moments: a quiet space on a crisp autumn day, a warm drink in hand, soft socks, and time spent reflecting in her gratitude journal.

She is married to her husband and closest friend, whose steady presence and sense of humor bring balance and joy to her life.
